Hi, I’m
Stephen Hyde.
My passion for helping people feel safe, comfortable, and at ease in their bodies began long before I became a massage therapist. From an early age, I was naturally drawn to supporting others and helping them find relief from physical discomfort, stress, and tension.
In 2018, I was introduced to massage therapy and immediately fell in love with the study of anatomy and the incredible connection between the body and mind. The more I learned, the more I realised that this work combined a lot that I was passionate about: science, human connection, and the ability to make a meaningful difference to someone's wellbeing.
What began as an interest, quickly became a calling.
Over the years, I have refined my own unique style of bodywork, drawing on Remedial Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, and assisted stretching techniques. My approach combines technical knowledge with intuition, allowing me to identify areas of restriction and imbalance, and tailor every treatment to the individual in front of me.
Many of my clients come to me with long-standing tightness, chronic muscular discomfort, reduced mobility, or the physical effects of stress. By working through layers of tension and encouraging healthy movement patterns, I aim to reduce tension, improve mobility, and ultimately help clients reconnect with their bodies.
Since 2019, I have had the privilege of building and operating my own business, Medicinal Collective, alongside my dear friend and business partner, Helena Zavesky. The experience has given me the opportunity to continually expand my knowledge, refine my craft and grow as a therapist, while building a loyal and consistent client base and earning more than 190 five-star Google reviews along the way.
I have also had the honour of working with professional athletes and sporting organisations, including the Sydney Swans and Rugby Australia Sevens, helping athletes perform, recover, and move at their best.
I am proud to bring Presswork to the local community and I look forward to helping people throughout Hobart and beyond move more freely, feel better in their bodies, and experience the benefits of truly personalised bodywork.
